Who We Are

Thank you for visiting! My name is Rachel Innes and I am the Head Coach and Founder of Plumflower Olympic Style Taekwondo, I am also a Mum of three.

I have been teaching and practising Taekwondo for twenty three years and I am passionate about helping students develop their full potential both in their taekwondo training and in life. My teaching experience has included working with students age 2yrs through to adult, teaching children and adults with learning challenges through the development of a programme designed to assist those affected by autism and cerebral palsey. I achieved my black belt in the USA in 2000 and on my return to the UK in 2001, I opened my first taekwondo school Vo’s 2 Taekwondo in Rottingdean East Sussex in 2003. My former students now run their own school in East Sussex.

My work includes teaching the values of citizenship and respect both for oneself and for others.

As a competitor I have competed for Great Britain as part of their technical taekwondo team and as a sparring competitor. I was national champion in Technical Taekwondo in 2004 and Bronze medalist at the 2007 Great Britain Sparring championships.

As a humanitarian, I went to Sri Lanka in 2004 to aid with the efforts to deliver aid to those affected by the Tsunami disaster. I also trained with the Sri Lankan army Taekwondo group during this time.

More recently, I worked on the E45 skincare campaign as a performance martial artist.

If you have ever wanted to try Taekwondo I would encourage you to give it a go and surprise yourself…. I did !
